Out later this week. Just grabbed from cdkeys for £17 (PC version) it has been cracked already so I took it for a test drive and it's great fun. Big emphasis on drifting to keep your boost power up. www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-5/hot-wheels-unleashedLooks like there are loads of unlockables, presentation is really nice. |

Let me know how it is - my boy is a massive hot wheels fan (as in, we are seeing HW monster trucks live at the o2 in the New Year, that massive).

It's really good so far, plenty of vehicles to unlock. It's quite tough even on normal difficulty, but that could be my lack of skills or the rubberbanding, or a combo of both. I haven't been able to try online, but the single player mode looks quite substantial in terms of races. |

My lad is isn't three yet but loves all thing Hot Wheels and monster trucks. If he was a little older I'd get this for us.
Has anyone played any of the Monster Jam games? The first is cheap on PSN at the moment, he watches YouTube videos of it regularly.

I'll be picking this up for PS5. I know they're regarded as a mid-tier developer, but I found Milestone's Gravel absolutely brilliant - best arcade rally game I've played since Sega Rally Revo on 360. The PS5 screen shots for Ride 4 also look absolutely incredible.

I've been looking at this constantly on the PS5 since it popped up on the store months ago. I feel as though it's not aimed at someone my age but it looks like really good fun every time I see it.

Apparently the driving model is really good and the difficulty is pretty high (I've seen a few reviewers/early-access playthroughs mention the race difficulty being higher than expected considering the subject of the game) so I reckon you'll probably be good.
Plus, you can race the DeLorean, K.I.T.T. and the Turtles van.

Yeah, I mean it's £40 for the standard edition on PS5, looks really good and I'm bang in the mood for something more arcadey. Definitely worth a pop.

I've had a copy for a few days now. Probably the best new arcade racer I've played in ages. They've nailed the drifting.

The drifting is fab. I have it on medium difficulty and struggle to win some races. Seems spot on in that regard.

Caved and grabbed the PC version... £18 is firmly in impulse buy territory, and I fancy a nice bit of arcadey action to keep me going until FH5.
Played Asphalt 9 a little bit recently and that's definitely not scratching any kind of itch for me!

Just watched a review of this, the attention to detail looks impressive. I love the way that the cars pick up wear and tear just like real ones. Little paint chips and the like Seems like a game where a lot of effort has gone in to it and it deserves to be played I might even buy it  |

My only issue with this so far is that I’ve unlocked K.I.T.T. so have no need for any further cars.
It even makes the scanner noise I’ve unsuccessfully tried to type out when you boost.
Hwowo? Hwowow? Weerweer? Hwoahwoah? Woowoo?

Hopefully the online multiplayer is held together with a bit more than duct tape. Could be a good one to do some easily accessible FG race nights on.

It's pretty hard then eh?
First 2 proper races were a 3rd and a 4th. I think I've sort of figured out the drifting, but I don't think boosting straight out of corners works as well as I'd like to think.
Can see me losing hours and hours to this. Loads of fun.

I've seen some previews that, while overall positive, were worried that there didn't seem to be a reason to ever use any of the slower vehicles. That's a bit worrying for a game theoretically built around collecting a bunch of cars. |

It does look awesome. If it's hard, is there an easier mode for, well, kids? Yeah I had it on normal last night, but there's an easy mode too and I think 2 difficulties above normal. It seemed like a real challenge, usually you get basically given your first few race wims in any career/story mode for free. But I was struggling to keep up with the top few cars in this. I also never really noticed a whole lot of rubber banding which is a very positive sign. |
