Redeemed my code and for whatever reason it's still not live on Steam for me. No preload option either. Possibly not available until 16:00.
So much for a cheeky game this morning...

Not much on the triggers other than at the start. Does have fairly decent feedback from the rumble though. Looks really nice too.

Upon further play there appears to be absolutely zero rubber banding either. It seems like it could have quite a serious competitive edge to it if it gathers enough steam.

Got a few races in over lunch, medium difficulty. 2nd in the first race, 1st in the following 3. Got a clear evening tonight to invest too, looking forward to more.

Yeah this is good fun. Although my Legendary Snoopy car is better than anything else I'm getting so it looks like I'm stuck driving a dog kennel for a while.

HDR seems a bit off though. Like it's too dark. Think it could do with a gamma setting.

Fucks sake. I've been saving up for KITT all afternoon and I went to open a box I won and accidentally bought one.

Panic over, you can sell the tat you get out of loot boxes. It's finally mine.

They've absolutely nailed how a power slide should feel in these kind of games.

I'm getting some pretty fantastic races online already. I love how there's seemingly a complete lack of pickups or weapons or any of that other shite. It feels like proper racing. Learn the tracks, master the handling, win.

I had my run up to Christmas all planned. This game followed by that game followed by the other. Then you wheel-spinning vagabonds go and fuck it all up with all this talk of seminal arcade racing.

If you've got Spotify linked to your console this seems like a pretty good playlist for it

Learn the tracks, master the handling, win. Yeah the lack of any bullshit or rubberbanding is very refreshing in this type of game. Really like the sound of the cars too.

Bit grim that there's already a 25 quid expansion available for it.

Yeah, I think the general advice I've seen is to cane this now and enjoy the fleeting sense of wholesomeness, as it is absolutely primed for microtransaction villainy.
The one bit of the reviews that made me a little uncomfortable was the shiny (currently in-game earned only) loot box animations for getting the new cars. In a game likely to be played by very young kids in addition to adults, that's got the potential to be a little insidious. Will need to see what their policy is going forward. Hey, maybe they won't be cunts? One can hope.

Just standard for me. Does it add anything significant?

Anyone playing on PC? If so, I've got a slightly weird question: how quickly does it boot up and you can be in game (off an SSD)?
The speed at which I could load up Streets of Rage 4 and do a quick stage meant that I played an inordinate amount of it on breaks and between meetings over the pandemic. I could totally see this being similar.

£40 is a cheeky price for a DLC heavy game, is the current amount of content worth the price?

Only reason I'm tempted is the fact that the pc version only cost me £17
