The first thing I saw when I loaded up the community liveries was a car with nipples and the legend “titty sprinkles” on the side.

Anyone playing on PC? If so, I've got a slightly weird question: how quickly does it boot up and you can be in game (off an SSD)? The speed at which I could load up Streets of Rage 4 and do a quick stage meant that I played an inordinate amount of it on breaks and between meetings over the pandemic. I could totally see this being similar. I have a PCI-Express 3 NVMe drive, so not quite the latest and greatest, and loading is thus: - 35 seconds of bullshit unskippable logos and legals - 0.1 seconds of actual game loading - 5 seconds of syncing with their servers - 0.1 seconds of actual game loading - Arrive on main menu So about 40.2 seconds to the main menu, of which 0.2 seconds if actual loading. From menu to gameplay is about 3 seconds, so when you're in it's all super rapid. Hope that's useful. Could be there's an .ini tweak, or some files one could delete, to speed up the unskippable startup. I did that recently with Metro Exodus which played a THREE MINUTE FUCKING VIDEO every time I fired it up.

That's really helpful mate, thank you. Incidentally, when precisely was it that you started hating my FUCKING WALLET??!!! I'm a few glasses of wine deep this evening, so I'll inevitably wake up to a purchase in the morning, I suspect. It does look genuinely fun.

Haha, I did see that post and meant to record a quick vid of launching the game to getting into a race. It's much less than a minute including fucking about with world map trying to find a race

I wasn't approximating, btw - I set a timer because I couldn't believe how long it actually was sat watching logos. :-)
£21 on CDKeys right now. While I'm not quite as blown away as the others in here, it's a really solid arcade racer with a really tangible connection between toy car and track. Feels great. For that money? Steal.

Played about an hour last night. It's great!
I see what people mean about the handling and overall feel of it- it's really well done. The sense of speed and trying to drift every corner and avoid the walls almost reminds me of the early Wipeout games. And the balance of cars seems good, I tried the slowest of my 3 starter cars and although it wasn't my favourite, it still seemed totally viable to win the earlier races by driving differently and exploiting the better handling and boost.
My one tiny gripe is what happens to the music when you boost. It does this pitch shift thing, I get what they were going for but it just grates on my ears a bit.
Buy yeah apart from that it's pretty much perfect so far, I can see it being a huge time-sink grinding to get all the cars and level them up.

Oh and also I tried a couple of online games and got thrashed. I assume you could be racing against people with fully upgraded cars though? Not sure if there's balancing for that.

Lol my very first race this morning on easy I came 1st, so thought I'd crank it up to medium. Literally last on both attempts so far.

Yeah online doesn't have categories or anything so you'll be at the mercy of everyone else if you step into races with anything other than a legendary car.

It was £17.99 when I got it... Even at £30-40 on consoles it's well worth it. Just finished the last boss and went around opening all of the remaining secrets. The school bus one on the first race was ridiculously infuriating. Bloody thing flips over as soon as you go over any of the small jumps going onto tracks.

The multiplayer seems a bit flakey. Cool that it seems to just stick in user created stuff at random though.

I'm not sure how well curated the user stuff is just yet as you'll often see tracks with just a start/finish piece that are over in less than 5 seconds.
Great for quick coins like.

It's been alright for me to be honest. I've had the odd game where it's taken a minute or so to start when it's hung on the starting grid and there's been the occasional laggy driver but that's about it.
Haven't played online today though, so maybe word of mouth has got out a bit over the weekend and it's being caned by more people.

Yeah, this is addictive as fuck. Took me waaaaay longer than I anticipated to get up to speed on Medium difficulty lol.
Did feel that they could have defaulted the box menu to having the earned 'Blind Boxes' first. Nearly blew 500 coins on a rogue purchase.

Yeah, that really bugs me. Plus they move it back to the default every time you open a blind box. It caught me out once.
Online was a bit flaky for me earlier. Stuck on finding a lobby and I had to close and open the game. Eventually got into a couple and managed one podium finish out of about 7 races... Can't see myself persevering with the online achievements!

I got the Power Rocket legendary car in an early Blind Box, which I've been using pretty much exclusively. It has a handling rating of 5 out of 6, but handles like a fucking bus. What am I missing?

Yeah some of the ratings don't seem to match how the car actually feels to drive.

Seems very physics oriented to me. The centre of gravity really affects how much your car can roll. They've done a proper job with it.

Yeah it's pretty surprising how they've managed to get every car to feel unique.

I got that one too and it's actually pretty nimble, you just need to brake a bit harder going into a corner and it'll sail round most of them. The 6 boost gauges are then ridiculous for rinsing cars out of corners and down long straights. Also painted it black so it looks like the Tim Burton Batmobile.

Yeah, that's how I painted mine. KITT popped for me, and that definitely handles in a way I can more easily... handle. But then the Legendary Mini Cooper S dropped, and that thing is an utter beast and is practically glued to the road so that's my fave now.

Just out of the random boxes?
