Got the gold skull crusher in a box and it's quickly become my fave. It has a gauge boost which really help on time trials.

Ah that's a shame, thought you might get a new area in rumble bit.
I've read 1 of the cars you get is the Batmobile though, so that could make it a purchase. Unless you can unlock all the cars you'd get through the boxes anyway.
Edit- Derbs post confirms it's not really worth it at that price.

I'd rather that than something that splits the playerbase tbh. Last thing the game needs is a bunch of tracks and game modes only half the people who have it can play together.

I splurged and got the vol. 1 pass along with the base game, which made it £15 rather than £25. Still very steep for 10 cars and a load of stuff I probably won't use, but the car models are very nice looking and I like the TMNT car in particular. and the Barbie Dream Camper obviously To be clear- the content isn't unlocked yet- I like the actual real-life Hot Wheels TMNT car |

I tried some split-screen with Kid 1 yesterday. It was great fun, definitely added to our gaming rotation. I'm not thrilled by having to unlock a lot of the tracks with coins though- you get 3 in each area for free, but then have to pay 300 coins each for another six for each area. That's a hell of a lot of grinding to unlock everything!

Some of the later tracks are a nightmare. Been stuck on one for a while now, just so many places to fuck up.

Yeah I was considering knocking up to hard in the first half, which I piped down about with some of those events towards the ends of certain paths. Learning when to hold off on a boost at certain parts of tracks really helped me. I was fucking myself over a lot not being in control early enough to sweep through trickier bits.

I lucked out and got a Bad To The Blade from a blind box. Not only does it have great speed, acceleration *and* handling, but also you can scoop people out of the way with a boost, like the ramp buggy from GTA Online. Does have a tendency to go airborne when cresting a hill though.

Secrets are a nice touch too. Forced me to use the Motorsaurus which I'd have avoided. It's an absolute beast, you can just brute force your way through.

I've left it at rare for now as upgrading to legendary means going down to 1 boost which stings a bit too much. Might do that if I ever get a dupe of it though.
