Rocksteady are (were?) one of my favourite developers. I've no clue where they've been since releasing Arkham Knight. All but disappeared save for that VR game.
Can only imagine some big project they were working on got cancelled

No, they've been developing this game for a while apparently. But 6 years? Unless they started completely from scratch, using none of their previous work, that's an insane development time isn't it? Asylum, City and Knight all released within a 6 year span |

Curious though, can devs like Rocksteady even take a break? Rockstar have slower output these days, but they have cashcows like GTA Online. Can't think of other studios with this kind of gap who don't also do other contractual work in the interim |

Game looks pretty good though, typically energetic. I came here to post the trailer, but already beaten to it. I hope it's more like Asylum or City though, as I didn't enjoy Knight as much.

Its an open world Metropolis, so definitely not going to be a tight experience like Asylum (best game in the series IMO)
Very much a wait and see type thing for me. Would be nice to get some gameplay footage at least.

I thought when it was announced they said it was gonna be GAASy? It's all based off a screenshot of what looks like the main menu. I didn't read too much into it because Gotham Knights menu looked pretty much the same and it's not a GAAS. But then somewhere on the main menu it does mention a battle pass so...

They clearly ripped all of that out of GK at the 11th hour. WB are utterly fucked for cash, so it really wouldn't surprise me if they lean into gaas heavily with this one.
Definitely giving this one a month or so and checking user feedback before I try.

Agreed - it doesn't look good.
I also don't like the "cosmetics only" argument, even if it is true. Although I didn't play it myself, I know people loved collecting all the different outfits in Spider-Man, and none of them were paywalled off (insofar as I'm aware).
