The globalization of the labour market is something that's affected everyone, and yet it's only in America that people so consistently vote against their own best interests Not sure that's true. Brexit for one. Populist votes in half of Europe for another.
I think its probably wrong to look for whether these election results are trending left or right if you’re trying to understand voter intention. It feels more instructive to look at the pattern of how elections over the last decade(ish) have trended in terms of incumbency and status quo. The trend then is clearer as its a trend that shows voters are dissatisfied with how things are and will vote for candidates who promise change/improvement. So its Biden over Trump but then Trump over Harris, its Labour over Tory, its Brexit over EU, admittedly it was Tory over Tory a couple of times too but leadership churn played a part there (along with the public hating Labour) Its just we’re at a point now where the thing that is at the root of everyone’s unhappiness is completely out of politician’s control (capitalism) which is why the vote is “change” rather than ideologically consistent.

Are you actually surprised Elon would do something like that, going after NASA?
He is as bitter as Trump when it comes to "opponents"...

He is as bitter as Trump when it comes to "opponents"... No, that was me doing a bit. Hopefully some people got the reference.

Of course he’d do this, but at least wait until you’re in office before you begin the post-Soviet style oligarch asset strip and resource snatch of state apparatus

It's just almost the last bastion in the US of a public service. If course it was going to be hived off.
