They're repeating the live event in about 2 hrs (at least here, I assume it's global)
We didn't even try the first on (much to the annoyance of the kids) as it was 4am here!!

Kids got to do the second version, with no real wait time.
It was a pretty fun live event, with some cool reveals (though I'm not sure if one of them is going to be a collab or its own creative map). The Eminem concert looked great.
Very short though. I'd have been rather annoyed if I'd queued for hours to get in.
Could have done with a few more songs in the concert bit, or they should have done the concert as a separate event.

Huh, they usually do make the concerts separate.
Like others I tried to join at 7, was in a 2 hour queue, so I just gave up. The repeat would have been early this morning and I prefer sleeping š

I also gave up and watched it on YouTube The collaboration with Lego looks to be more than just a throwaway Creative experience, itās important enough that it takes up 1/4 of the new loading screen. Very interested to see how it works, but I assume itās aimed more at kids and not part of the Battle Royale modes. |

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. But then it doesn't show up at all in the trailer for the next season. *shrug*
It looks too big to be one of those short mid-season events like the anime ones, but then I'm not sure how it'll fit into regular battle royale.
The addition of wall climbing makes me hope that wall running will be a thing soon. All games should have wall running.
The racing mode looks pretty decent as well.

Looks wild, every season I think oh shit that looks like a complicated mechanic to learn, this season seems to have of changes to movement so going to be a period of acclimatisation where I get stomped on for several weeks.

The locker is WEIRD now. I get why they might have done it, if most people just have the same set of emotes they always use between different skinsā¦ but if Iām switching between presets I now have to select the character, then pick their emote preset, then pick their wrap preset (which is pointless because surely everyone just puts the same wrap on every gun). I know people always react badly to change, but I donāt like this. Maybe I should quit grumbling and actually try the game  |

Haha how easily Iād forgotten what this game looks like- the new map looks *incredible* after 4 weeks of reskinned OG Chapter 1 .
I got on a train by jumping from above just as it went through a tunnel- hacked a crate and had to run in the opposite direction to jump off the back before it hit the storm- great cinematic fun!
Thereās a few new things I have yet to learn (what are the weird yellow circles you see on the map?) and I havenāt messed around with hurdling or climbing yet, looking forward to trying more later.

Loving this season and map.Had a few good games and been absolutely rinsed several in a row.
Had some frantic fights in train stations and the palaces/mansions.
Feel like some of the weapons may get vaulted though and the spear/harpoon is essential.

Hmm not sure what to think of it ATM, the new map is great but all my movements seems off.
Character is closer and more off centre, making me feel like I'm always listing to the left, I'm always shooting off centre despite what feels like heavier auto-aim adjustment, and I've come away feeling a bit motion sick...
Been trying to look through settings to help alleviate it, but so far no luck...

Not sure I get what everyone means about the movement (besides the changes to animations) but admittedly I haven't played the game in a bit. I'm glad they figured out hurdling through windows. Early impression is that map is beautifulāthe whole game is nowābut I do still long for the hundred-different-biomes style I got when I first started playing. There's no reason for this game to be so cohesive, even staid; it's not a gritty military shooter, even if it added weapon mods (which I could take or leave).
The UI changes, though... good lord. On top of looking like mobile dreck, they've split presets into 4 separate categories, so instead of simply loading a prebuilt character profile, you (if you can be arsed) have to load the skin, then the wraps, then the emotes, then the icon and music. Completely flabbergasted by what could possibly have gone into this decision.

I donāt want to set my skin to random and then have a totally mismatched set of gear, I want to set my presets to random so they load in how I want them but I still see different ones each match. I guess most players must have one main character and emote set that they hardly ever change, thatās the only way it makes sense. Or maybe it was āweāve done a shit ton of research and testing, turns out people spend more VBux when itās like thisā. But yeah it sucks. |

Upgrading weapons is a game changer for weapon performance I think the guns are deliberately rubbish to encourage you to improve them.

Finally got this installed and had a go last night. Very confusing as everything has changed. Jumped on the train but there was nothing there and then it took me into the storm I only played 2 matches so I don't really get weapon mods yet. They seem confusing and annoying, but I guess I'll get the hang of them. It doesn't help that every weapon is new, and there are now loads of variants of each. With little meaningless icons and then explanations like 'increases APD' that don't actually tell you what the fuck APD is. But the beginning of every season of Fortnite is me being totally confused and hating it, and then getting the hang of it and liking it by the end. *shrug* Having a quest to drive the Whiplash, and then when I got into the Whiplash it changed into a rocket league car confused the heck out of me. Is it me or are the autoshotguns way OP? I got like 8 kills with a basic green one because their fire rate is so high for a shotgun. Can you pick or change mods when you upgrade weapons? If you can't change the mods yourself then I don't get the point. |

Though I died pretty quick in the first one, and spent most of the second one trying to get on the (empty) train  First impressions are that this season seems really 'busy' compared to the nicely pared-back OG season. All those various circles on the map! All the different icons for weapon mods. Really dislike the weird + + + effect when you use medkits. Loads of icons on the map. Plus all the UI changes and stuff like cars, instruments(?), auras(?) and thats before even the Lego, Festival and Racing modes are out. But almost every new season feels a bit like that. |

Ballistic shields seem a bit OP. You can stagger them if you hit them enough, but if theyāre up close, Iāve usually lost most of my health before they stagger. Iāve lost to them a good few times.
At longer range theyāre manageable with an AR or sticky grenades, but up close theyāre ridiculous.

I held my nose and dived into the FortniteBR subreddit for some tips. Hereās what I learned:
- The orangey-yellow circles you sometimes see are other players carrying a medallion dropped by a boss
- Sniper with Holosight is apparently the best sniper and mod combo, because the holosight stops it from glinting when you aim. Add Angled Foregrip to reduce ADS (aim down sights)
- Everyone hates the new locker

Oh, that's what ADS means! It's weird that they just threw all this stuff in without explaining it. Even just a couple of screens in the 'news carousel' thing explaining what the orange circles were or what the weapon mods are would have been handy. I only had time last night for one match, so I dropped where the map said there was a modding bench, only to find there was no modding bench. I guess it must have been underground or something. Yesterday I tried to do a quest about getting a medallion, without knowing what one was, so I dropped where there was a weird marker on the map, but never found anything or found out what that marker was supposed to mean. This season is confusing me. I guess we'll have Lego, Racing, Festival and then Xmas stuff all dropping in the next week or so, so I'm gonna be even more confused  The new locker seems awful. /grumpyoldman |

Looks like you can get a free Fortnite (and Lego Fortnite) skin here if you link up your Lego and Epic accounts: www.lego.com/en-gb/themes/fortnite/about(or, basically, go to your epic account and the Apps and Accounts section and link your Lego account from there) The fact they've converted 1000+ Fortnite skins to Lego Fortnite skins is pretty awesome, even though a load of them aren't finished yet. Some look so cool. Plus a few of the emotes have been Lego-ized.
[edit] Oh, and there's a different Quest Pack in the item shop that is priced at 0 and includes a different male skin, etc.. .

The LEGO Fortnite mode is superb, it's Minecraft that looks fantastic and it plays very well too. It's going to be hugely popular.
