Yeah I got to 120, but them sneaking in the vbux into the bonus rewards each season means I'm not getting enough to pay for the following season's BP, so my surplus is dwindling each month. Crafty beggars. I had to double check this to make sure but… I think as long as you get to level 100 you “make your money back” - ie. You get more VBux (1000) than the battle pass costs (950). The extra ones in the bonus section mean you can get up to 1500 total. So be annoyed that it’s a grind to get them by all means, but at least you’re still breaking even if you hit lv100  |

Also, as I've moaned before, it's coincided with the splitting into multiple games/xp/battlepasses and the lack of leeway means I've actively disincentivized from playing Rocket Racing or Festival as then I'll get even less vbux! I think you actually gain more levels by playing the different modes. I think the goal is to specifically push people into playing the different modes by making XP harder by just playing the BR only. They all level up the same pass afaik. There are also some "exploits" about to help with levelling up. If you play Lego for 4 hours a day, you get 5 levels. Obviously that's an unreasonable amount of playing, so what I've read people do is just rubber band the analogue sticks together and leave Lego running. Dunno if it still works but I do know you can't just leave it with no input or you won't get the XP. Some creative maps also give a lot of XP, but it all becomes just a lot of busywork really. There might have been a time or two I consulted such dark arts in the past. |

Racing and Festival give you almost zero XP though, after a first initial burst. Unless you play them for hours and hours every day.
If you just alternate between a bit of this and a bit of that you end up getting very low returns. YMMV.

The way a lot of things are structured is something like "get 1k XP for this, and 1k XP for that, but get 15K XP for completing 5, and another 15K XP for completing 9, etc..
So in my experience you just get a few 1k XPs unless you complete a bunch of them. Same for Lego, Racing and Festival.
But at least Lego has a few quest sets, like Zero Build does.
The Fishing one, or the Star Wars one in Lego are like the Crash Dummy or Story quests in Zero Build.
Then they all have Daily Quests for a few XP, and seem to mostly have the Season Stats rewards that build up over the season.
But Festival and Racing don't really have the quest sets, and none of them except Battle Royale / Zero Build have the weekly quests or the quest rewards.

New Fortnite battle pass is *very* Mad Max. Top Tier skin looks pretty Immortan Joe. I mean, it may look very Fallout as well, but I haven't played a fallout game since the OG, so I wouldn't really know. Fallout power armour looks better than I expected. I can already tell my kids are gonna be whiny about not getting the Pea Pod skin. |

Well I’m glad daily quests are back, so in theory you can complete 3 in a single match.
I spent almost the entire match in a vehicle just now, if you’ve got a grenade launcher you can really cause trouble for opponents on foot or in vehicles of their own. Hopefully there’s ways around that or it will end up a slugfest between vehicles in the last 10

I'm loving it and it's totally madmax, th car combat is a crazy and fun. Love the power fists, but they're totally gonna get nerfed aren't they? 😅

Yeah racing seemed generous with the EXP the season before last, but last season and now, not so much. The “meta” currently seems to favour machine guns over grenade launchers on vehicles- both are pretty effective, but I now think machine gun has the edge because it’s very hard to counter if you’re caught out in the open on foot. Unless you have the nitro fists to blast uppercut out of the way. Minus points on the Fallout stuff because the Pip Boy doesn’t go on the back so making it a back bling is stupid (I would have made it part of the harvesting tool). But plus points for the sound when you pick up or chug a Nuka Cola- which is spot on and has to be the actual sound file from FO4 |

I had a session this evening- they’ve done some balancing to make the vehicles and turrets not quite as overpowering and it’s helped I think. I like the vehicle combat, it hasn’t worn out it’s welcome yet - if anything it’s the nitro fists that piss me off now, can’t counter them if someone starts throwing punches up close.
There’s been a few good comedy moments too. More than once I’ve blown up someone’s vehicle and they’ve panicked and jumped into the passenger / turret seat of mine, leading to a bit of impromptu co-op.

I’ve also seen people using boogie bombs against vehicles, the driver gets out to dance and you can either snipe them or (as happened to me yesterday) drive off in their car to a safe distance and then kill them with their own turret |

Starting to see it more at end game now, especially when one team loses their car.
Had a cracking duos win last night, down to the last team, they jumped in our van, my friend shouted 'get out' as he boosted them off into the storm, where they both died as they couldn't get back quickly enough.
I would have loved to have seen their reaction 😂

I just hit battle pass lv100- the grind hasn’t felt as bad this season. Think the extra Reload and Sweat challenges probably helped- I haven’t even been tempted to go into the other modes for XP.
Not that bothered about the bonus reward variants this season, so I won’t be grinding much more, but I’ve enjoyed it all just fine up until now. And we still have the Pirates of the Caribbean tie-in to come.

Heh same, about to hit 100 too, but I was attributing it to how much fun this season is to play!
My friends and I have definitely been loving the Mad-max theme, even though the car combat has been nerfed a bit and the Magneto powers cause havoc, it was the much needed injection to shake it up for us.
We'll be pretty sad when they take it out again 😅

For the people in the know will you have until the end of the season to complete this pirates thing that's available right now or does it end earlier?
Son has bought it and things are unlocking every 2 days with the last 2 being on the 31st Jul and 2nd Aug respectively. Will it then end it 2 days later or run it's course till the season end on Aug 16th.
We're away from the 31st Jul so is worried he'll miss the last 2 (omg it's all I've heard for the past 40mins).
