Fuck me how the hell do you do the artist? Did the first phase but the 2nd phase is a killer. For me it was the other way around: First Phase takes forever (I cannot distinguish her chains and therefore duck-weaving is out, so I just block and evade the last hit then retaliate), but bringing a bat (=> no chip damage when blocking) and parry-spamming her infinity twirl helped. Second Phase is all downward evades for her melee attack chain + jump; then throwing knives (either catch + throw with upgrade or just evade), following by the inward rush (evade sideways when you see the glint in her eye).

Second Phase is all downward evades for her melee attack chain + jump; then throwing knives (either catch + throw with upgrade or just evade), following by the inward rush (evade sideways when you see the glint in her eye). First phase she has 3 attacks. The one where she chases you spinning just run away (or use a focus bar to disrupt her). There is another attack that leaves no window to attack, ends with a sideways swipe. The one you’re looking for is where she sweeps low near the end and then a jump attack. Stay close but not in impact distance, when she sweeps low L1 and up, then wait and L1 down to sidestep the jump attack. Then attack. Rinse repeat. Second phase. Catching weapons is crucial for her long distance knife throw. Her up close attack just block the whole thing, when she jumps back for the kick attack just time an L1 sidestep, then attack. The long range dash you can also L1 sidestep but timing is crucial, or you can block it but the window for attack disappears.

I can make it through all of the Squats without taking a hit. Until the boss battle.
The Club is OK can get through most of it fairly regularly. Haven't progressed beyond that due to my fear of aging.
Only gripe is the parry, I just can't get consistent timing so rely heavily on the R2/Dodge. I also use tables to my advantage quite often.

Try practicing the lb dodge, the timing on it is a lot more forgiving and it keeps you in an attacking position.

Feeling my resolve crumbling on this. Had been back on Streets of Rage 4, trying to get my fighting fix and dissuade me from buying it, but just watched a clean playthrough of what I presume is the first mission and also realised I have a discount voucher still eligible for the Epic store ... It does look very fucking cool.
Also, perhaps bit of a weird one, but you can play as fem Sifu? I must have watched at least four in-depth reviews of the game and never once did I hear that mentioned.

Fear not, everyone. Reports that there are difficulty modes getting patched in. I have it on very good authority that these are the four difficulty tiers:
1. Wax off, noob. 2. Lol, pathetic. 3. Respectful nod. 4. Palm Hold Fist Salute

Yeah, I think I'm gonna finally pick it up too. I think I've decided I'm not getting Elden Ring after all, and everyone seems high on this game. Price isn't too bad either so might as well.

Jesus Christ this is fucking amazing. Best intro to a game I've played in years, too.
Just did my first go through the squats, finished up age 29. The satisfaction pulling off the high/low blocks is incredible. Can't parry for shit, but block and dodge been serving me well so far.
Any skills to make an early b-line for? I just perma unlocked the snap kick, as that's been working well for me so far. Missed a few collectibles it seems on that first run, so going to go back and try perfect it.

I like the snap kick early doors - double tap towards and triangle. Closes distance quickly, keeps you on the offence, good opening move, good if you knock them back aways and you want to follow up, good if you want to change targets in a group as the follow through will move you away from other opponents around you. And it's cheap to unlock.

You’re going to want the catch projectiles skill for one of the later bosses. I find the kick objects skill useful as well to knock enemies down with chairs and footstools etc.

So, do you unlock keys/passcodes etc. in later levels which you can then use to unlock areas in previous ones? I'm missing one item from the Squats, which I presume is through the one remaining locked door I can't open.
Focus system is pretty cool. Love the 360 staff attack.

It's been out for, what, a week? Feels a bit early to be having the difficulty conversation.

It's not exactly a staggering drop-off. Look at any run of the mill game's trophy data and achievement greatly decreases after a couple of levels. Games actually being completed is very much the exception when looked at on the total scale from everyone that has activated it on their account.

Seeing the headline and writer, I had no interest in reading the article, but I still thought they'd base it off something more concrete than trophy data. Bloody hell. This is complete bottom of the barrel stuff.

Yeah it's fairly common that most gamers drop off early on. The proportion that actually stay to the end of any game is really small. There's too many of them (games), they're too big (games, but some gamers are massive) and - particularly as gamers in general encompass everyone from young children to us grizzled old fucks - I would say most people just don't have the time to complete every game they buy.

It's very 'this has picked up a few comments on twitter, lets do an article' stuff. That data has been there for every single playstation user, literally as far back as the PS4's release and you can see exactly the same trend with pretty much every game ever released. Bafflingly lazy stuff.

3rd boss isn't actually that bad once you get a read on her. Got her in the late 40s bit I reckon a few more goes and I'll get her without losing many lives.

First phase is piss if you just bait her slam attack and then hit her with a combo. Rinse and repeat. 2nd phase I was dodging her rush attack instead of blocking or trying to parry and that leaves her wide open. Just need to get better and beat her at age 40 if I can.

Managed to get Sean on The Club down at aged 25. Edging closer to a no death clear of Squats and Club. Unlocked the lift in the museum so can go straight to the artist and I’ve pretty much nailed her move sets so hoping by the weekend I can clear the first 3 levels with 0 deaths.
Game hasn’t got it’s hooks into me this much since Returnal.

I'm down to 23 on the Squats. Despite having not quite pulled it off yet, I know I can do the boss without a death, as I've got the move set down now.
But I CONSTANTLY lose a fucking life in the (pen-)penultimate mass brawl fight. And it's always the bastarding octogenarians with a comic, off-screen kick/punch combo. Fuckers.

Are you referring to the drug den? You can take 3 of them out without even engaging the main group.
