Currently building the home alone house for the festive period. So many nice little touches. Will make a fine Christmas decoration. Mulling over getting the light kit for it. We built the Alpine Lodge at the weekend, I have to say it's one of the most enjoyable builds I've done, full of lots of lovely little details, really clever, and the light in the chimney/fireplace is *chef kiss*
Planning on taking apart after New Year and rebuilding it as an annual Christmas thing

Eeeesh! That's awful. What's the brick count? Just seen 359 The nearest comparison I could find was the quinjet. Same price but double the brick count. Obviously adding a mini figure tax. Poor form and not very Christmassy

I wonder if Marvel have upped the licensing fees? That's a complete con.

The sad thing is that I'll probably end up buying it because I wanted a full X-Men mini figure roster....

I agree the value ain't great but I'd be tempted if I had the disposable income.
It would be a necessity I suppose if you're also interested in the rumoured X Men mansion.

That's mental compared to something like the Tallneck which is in the same price bracket and has 3x the pieces. Lego have always been a bit of a con, but this is properly taking the piss!

That pricing is an insult. Is there a Lego Marvel tax on top of the already Lego Disney tax?!
One of those sets you hops is heavily boycotted and goes 30%+ discount asap!

Has anyone ever bought one of those 3rd party motor sets off amazon?
The genuine lego sets that include motors and remotes are so pricey. Kid wants one to mess around with.

Haven’t bought one, but the price of those is also going through the roof.
I’ve had my eyes on the light set for the Ghostbusters Ecto-1, but they’re now about 15 quid dearer, than a year ago

It'd be good for him to have a motor+remote+battery set as he could plug that into loads of things, or use it to create contraptions in an educationalfun way.
As long as they don't catch fire and burn down the house.

I did this with the two red roses on stems a couple of years ago and it went down really well

I can see the pics, but it doesn't embed. That's on proboards though I guess.
Did you pre-build the roses, or just give them a box to build themselves?

I gave her the box, and she gave it back to me to do the building.

Bought the Ford Mustang on sale (plus a Insiders code on top) yesterday, so got it for £89 which was a good enough discount to easily tempt me. Looking forward to the building when it arrives, lovely looking set.

The kit itself is really clever, the mechanism is very well designed so you insert the photo, it clicks into place, and then the red button will release a spring and it pops out, but not all the way, just like a real polaroid really. Very cleverly done.

It looks very cool. I feel like you could actually put a proper digital camera in there, given how cheap and small digital camera sensors are these days.

Yes I was thinking the same, it wouldn't be hard and they must have thought about it, but I guess they want to keep it analogue and real. Did you see the link to the Verge story about designing it and bringing it to production?

Aww those are really nice.
I'm kinda torn about whether I should build them and give them to her (which would be more romantic), or let them build them herself (which she likes doing)
Still a while to decide though 😅

Ornithopter arrived yesterday and I finished it today. It’s excellent, really interesting to build and very sturdy. Super fun.

Yeah, the forest animals one looks ace. Stuck a preorder in when Amazon had it for £36.51 for some unknown reason.
