Ornithopter arrived yesterday and I finished it today. It’s excellent, really interesting to build and very sturdy. Super fun. I saw Tiago review it on his channel. Looks bloody massive when the wings are expanded!

It's huge yeah. My 6 yr old walks around holding it by the tail like a giant salmon or something. Not ideal but it's incredibly sturdy. Very unique build.
The fold out wings and landing gear are bloody awesome. The weird flappy wing gimmick less so.

A reasonably sized and priced Millennium Falcon sounds great. That one looks a bit short and stubby though, and doesn't seem to have much interactivity going on. Doesn't look like anything opens up and you don't even get any minifigures with it. Do the turret and dish even rotate?

I wouldn't imagine so, as it's being marketed as a display piece to celebrate 25 years of Lego Star Wars. Same as the Tantive IV.
There are a couple more anniversary celebration sets that have a bit more interactivity: the Tantive IV corridor diorama and the newest R2-D2 (which is a bit smaller than the UCS one that's getting discontinued this year).

Me too, to be fair. Sadly, it's going to have to wait as there's an absolute stack of sets on my to-buy list that are getting the axe this year. Gonna have to make some difficult choices, I think.

I think the new midi Falcon looks absolutely superb. It’s the right size - not too big or small. It doesn’t open up which is ideal as as soon as you do that it looks a bit shit in my opinion.
Although it’s meant for adults as a desk display, it’s the exact right size to swoosh through your house imo

The new midi scale Falcon looks great but eh 3-in-1 fox/squirrel/owl really looks amazing! I saw this in duty free the other day (midi scale Falcon) and toyed with getting it but somehow I would feel I was missing out compared to the fuck off enormous one that I will never afford. +1 for the new forest animals set, definitely getting that

As an owner of the UCS Falcon, it's absolutely lovely but it's also bloody massive and takes up a huuuuge amount of space. You can get a number of creative display stands for it to tilt it vertically, which would probably help. My eventual plan is to build the Death Star hangar around it, then encase it all in a clear acrylic case and turn it into a feature coffee table. There's a number of very impressive examples of this on the Googles. (Here's a link to the MOC:) rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-0631/jmfbtb/lego-docking-bay-327-for-ucs-falcon/#details

Although it’s meant for adults as a desk display, it’s the exact right size to swoosh through your house imo It just feels like it could do with a little something extra. The size is perfect, I agree. But having a back section you could open up to see the interior, or even just having a see-through cockpit or something. Or even just a couple of minifigures.

Slowly building my analogue gadget collection. The film SLR is from the 3 in 1 Creator set that also has the camcorder and mini TV.

Oh man I was literally wondering if they had ever done or would do a Walkman! I've got enough points for that but I can't access it at the moment because I'm not in the UK, I'll have another look at that when I get home this weekend.

Saw a review for the McLaren MP4/4 Senna. I think the back tyres ruin the set It might have to be a deep sale pickup.

I think all the tyres are too small not just the rears, I know it's not a massive set so they're limited with what parts they can utilise but still they're completely out of proportion with the real thing, I bet it's not long before someone posts a youtube hack to fit fatter wheels.

The Medieval Town Square set is dangerous because it means I may have to get the Lion Knight's Castle to go with it and that's just crazy.

I have the Lion Knight's Castle boxed and sitting at home unopened, I'm saving it for the summer holidays. Might have to get the town square to go with it. Argh.

The mediaeval town square just dropped as early access for Lego Insiders. Picked it up together with the florist shop free gift and the World of Wonders set as an Insiders’ reward, all for under £100 as I had a birthday gift card to put towards it. Feelin smuuuug.

There's a lot of nice Lego coming out about now. The Technic space ship looks amazing!
And I covet the town square and the castle to go with it but have no space or justification for any of it!

Was down at my parents helping clear the loft & discovered they still had my Lego sets from the 70's; I was sure they had given it away to my cousins at some point Stunned that the train set & level crossing was there with instructions, only box that was there was for the level crossing, but the electric motor for the train was in the bags too and a box of extra blue train tracks Also found my cases with my old Matchbox cars & my Corgi Magic Roundabout set (still in its box), cars & trainset Meccano crane set too Antiques Roadshow here I come !!

If you’re intending to sell, then don’t go to eBay. Send a message to Leicester toyshop and they’ll give you a fair valuation.

Or read the nostalgia thread and read all the stories of regret about giving up old toys and keep them! 😅
