What the best game you've played in the last 12 months that you didn't like? If you played it in the last 12 months, it's definitely Dead Cells Hollow Knight probably. Boring

I’d say HiFi Rush, but that was last year, right? I just couldn’t stand timing combos 1 beat before an attack would hit. Kinda broke my brain a little.

Shittiest either fallout tacitcs or culpa innata.
Really liked both of them but they are jank.
I think overall tactics is worse as it got f up by interplay badly while culpa does some things really really well!

Unicorn Overlord is definitely a contender so far. Balatro too I guess, although that wears a bit thin after a while.
Don't think I've played any bad games from this year, just ones that I wasn't in the mood for at that specific moment but will definitely come back to.

Currently playing Cyberpunk on PS5. My 2nd play through and the first on the 2.0 update with DLC which I've not even started yet.
Playing as female corpo V again and it's great to be back into this after so long it feels fresh.

So I am currently playing, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
I am about 10 hours in and I have to say it's one of the best metroidvania games I have played. It's also some of the most fun I have had in a videogame the last couple of years.
Excellent combat system, decent story, great abilities, wonderfully designed. It is keeping me thoroughly engaged.
Don't sleep on this one or you are missing a gem. There is a demo which gives you a glimpse of what the game offers, but it surprised me how much more there is to the combat system once you start learning it and getting new abilities.
Genuinely good times with this one.

Shadwen (PC) Stealth game which seems to be one long escort mission where you're sneaking/parkouring/grappling through medieval towns distracting Thief-esque guards to allow your escortee to sneak through. But with a Superhot-esque mechanic where time only moves when you do. Oh, and Sands of Time style rewinding if you mess up. I heard it was low-budget and janky, and it's certainly janky! The world looks really nice... all rickety houses and shadows. The guards look pretty good too, and the voice acting is good. But then the cutscenes are all static images and it gives the impression of being a tech demo that they got half way with turning into a game, but then decided it wasn't quite going to work and not to invest too much in finishing. You can take out guards, which looks like it'd be easier, but as usual in stealth games I'd rather retry it 100 times than give up and bash them in the head. The grappling hook physics can be fun, or run into major issues. It does give you quite a lot of freedom in what you can grapple though. A more studio game would probably limit your grapple points a lot more, and be more polished and more boring for it. The combination of that plus time pausing plus rewind means 50% of the time you feel really cool when you slicky ghost your way past a series of guards, and 50% of the time you end up stuck hanging from a lampost in full view with your head clipped through the board you were trying to climb onto It's the kind of creative and ambitious janky indie PC game that we were inundated with back around 2010 and I've kinda missed those.

It's not for everybody obviously, and there's a LOT of text dialogue to get through and probably too many characters to keep track of, but when it gets going it's absolutely absorbing. If you like tactical RPGs at all then I'd say it's essential. It's the first one I've played properly since FF tactics advance decades ago and I'm wondering why I've left it so long.

Yeah, Unicorn Overlord is great. Though the story is generic rubbish, and I couldn't tell you the names of any of the characters if you paid me. If neither of those things are a deal-breaker for you, you'll have a good time.

Started Marvel Midnight Suns (PC - Epic freebie). Eh, not sure about this one. The only other Marvel game I played /and enjoyed/ was Guardians of the Galaxy. Things I like so far: - Character creator (created a truly stunning looking girl as my character - Visually really impressive - Voice acting is top notch, it's like being in a movie - Turn based battles Things I hate so far: - Cards (wtf), just why? - Socializing with the characters, it's like a completely different game within the game, they blabber too much (and I enjoyed that feature in GotG - but in that game it was witty and funny Well it's not X-Com with Marvel characters as was expected, I'll give it more time and see but might abandon it shortly .

Masses of dialogue with crap characters and story is a little off putting. Apparently there aren't even any massive tits

After the travesty of Callisto.. I've decided to replay Uncharted 4 again, with all those fancy PS5 upgrades. Hopefully this will keep me occupied until Astro.

I really enjoyed Midnight Suns. A lot of running about the Abbey talking to people and unlocking things granted, but I had a lot of fun. Unicorn Overlord is also great. I must play that PoP game.

Midnight Suns is great when you are allowed to play it. The game itself is so fun.
It’s a shame you spend 90% of the time running around Goth Byker Grove, placating the neediest bunch of twats to have ever lived.

The "Goth Byker Grove" aspect of marvel MS puts me off getting the game, and you need to do it to get upgrades/team attacks or something. Apparently that part was outsourced to some shitty fanfic writing level company and was not done by the main devs
Playing Firework its on gamepass and its 2d chinese light puzzle horror game. its ok, good for MS rewards as extra bonus
Watch dog legion It was only £4 and I wanted a GTA style game, actually started ages ago during the trial weekend but was not fair into it. its nice driving about london without getting fined. The voices and character design are fucking awful looking but the city looks good. In rained heavy ingame and it looked shit, like that GTA SA shitty port quality, I thought the game was glitched or something. I liked the aspect you can recruit people to do missions but the problem is a lot of people are rubbish. It could of led to hitman style missions but its always held by ubisoft cookie cutter gameplay.

Currently replaying Monster hunter world. I'd completely forgotten how addictive it is as well forgetting how annoying Bezelgeuse is. He shows up EVERYWHERE.

I need to try another Monster Hunter some time. Clocked well over a hundred hours on Tri, but after 20 hours of the fourth game I suddenly felt like the bad guy killing off wildlife. A bizarre change of heart, considering none of its real, but I couldn’t slay another monster of any kind. My time as a Long Sword Samurai Cowboy was over.

Sadwen (continued..)
This is pretty fun, in a Superhot meets Thief meets Tomb Raider kinda way. Only issue I have (other than the jankiness, which i accept and quite like) is that missions are pretty long and you can't save in the middle.
This isn't an issue in-game as you have rewind powers, but it's annoying if you want to quit the game for some reason. The levels are getting quite complex now and plotting a route through them is a bit exhausting at times, so it'd be nice to take a break.
Tricky Towers Fun for a quick 10 minute local multiplayer battle.
Jedi Knight (OpenJK) Still great. I just got a lightsaber.
Everything I heard about the game said those were the best bits. But that might be more of an indication of where I get my gaming news what sites are they? I can them block them Its the first time I've heard anyone say those parts were good
RPS and Crate & Crowbar mainly.

I remember Frozenbyte made this game right after the Trine 3 debacle. Thinking back to it, it's kinda impressive that they managed to stay afloat, at the time it seemed like that double whammy would put them under.

Has anyone played Cloudpunk?
It's often dirt cheap on Switch, and the Bladerunner city looks amazing. I watched a bit of gameplay and the writing seems ok, but I'm worried it's just going to boil down to repetitive A-B delivery missions.

Dead Cells!
Picked up it up when it released for Switch years ago, but only got a small way through it despite enjoying it.
Grabbed it and all the DLC on Steam. God it's so good. And so rich. A cornucopia of cool weapons and power items. And the way it just chucks you back into the fray immediately after you die is very clever in how runs almost seem to meld together.

Put in over 100 hours on Dead Cells. It’s sooo good. Especially on the harder difficulties.
