Try them all and then start working your difficulty up with your favourite deck would be my recommendation.
There is no right or wrong way, just do what you feel like at the time.

I had a really good run with a great layout but failed on the final boss, so used the seed and tried again. I had straights levelled up to 9 (270 chips base, 28 multi) along with: - Pareidiolia - All cards considered face cards
- Sock and Buskin - Retrigger all played face cards
- Played face cards give +30 chips
So each straight was giving 570 chips from the base and each card scoring +30 twice. Vouchers redeemed for +2 discards.
Add in the shortcut joker (with a +50 foil, upping the base to 620) which let me score straights with gaps, and a few buffed cards, and the points were flying in, often over 100k per hand played.
But I still needed Mr. Bones to save me on the final round!
Only after I finished and looked it up, did I find out seeds don't count towards progression so I didn't pass the Purple Stake. Gutted.

Late to the party but haha, this game rules I was after something to play on my kid’s Switch because he’s been taking up the TV watching every episode of Dr Who in order. Bought Balatro this morning, been playing on and off all day, and just beat it for the first time. I got a lucky set of jokers early on, mainly the trousers one that increases mult every time you play 2 pair. I had it up to 60 by the end  . That plus the one that gains multiple with tarot cards meant some crazy scores. I hope/assume I’m just scratching the surface, can’t wait to get back and see what I’ve unlocked |
