That sounds like selene but yeah, I think you need a certain world tendency for that. Maybe it was the cleaver phantom npc, but you have to fight her

BP garl is in 5-3 iirc, I think you have to either kill him normally first, and then come back. Or astraea first, and then come back. With some kind of world tendency. Honestly can't remember now

Just defeated him and got his weapon and shield 👍 I think the only place I have left is the shrine of storms then the blue dragon area at the king's tower. Edit: I killed a black phantom unsure of the name but dropped the Bramd weapon. |

How is level 5-2 (Dirty Colossus boss) in the remaster? Is it still pitch black, or have they ruined it by lighting it up?  Over time, it turned into one of my favourite levels in Demon's Souls, just for the sheer foreboding blackness of it.
I also found the best map for the level, I just love this:

That's great - it definitely captures the level. As I recall, it was still dark in the remaster, but of course draw distance is better, so I don't think it quite had same pitch black inkiness. That said, doing the level in the remaster felt similar to the original overall. I like the level too, but partly as it encouraged me to use miracles and spells I hadn't really been trying - for instance, cloak to more stealthily get past clusters of depraved / giant depraved ones...or even less nobly that in combination with death cloud to cheese Selen Vinland. |

I met her the first time, when I went through the fog door it started off like a boss fight in regards to a cut scene, she was sat at a shrine type thing and resurrected a knight from the shit, he was blocking of a path to her, I killed him and went to over to her and clicked to talked button she said something then died and it came up that I'd banished the demon. I was plagued and trying to deal with that as well so I may have missed something. When I went back nothing was there other than the phantom and items. |

I actually found (a completed) 4-3 to be better / quicker for farming than 4-2 when playing the remaster, though I know 4-2 is considered the farming spot. Equip Storm Ruler and the Ring of Avarice. Run somewhere with some cover; I think that dilapidated house is best. Hammer Storm Ruler, timing it as the storm beasts pass over you (you can sometimes get three at once). Souls galore, especially as once they are all dead you can just quickly refresh the run at the archstone. Rinse, repeat, though Storm Ruler will need some repairs. |

Often 3-8 per run? I never found a use for it mind - what build or weapon type is it good for? |

Ah cool, didn't know they dropped them. That's another run sorted then  It's good for magic based builds using magic weapons - augments it with magic damage that scales well with Magic attribute. So it'll upgrade the crescent falchion for example for a mage/caster build. It's great, because that falchion suits dex as well - if I want an easy run, I'll go mag/dex on my character and pick up the falchion immediately, and then you're off. |

Sorry - I'm being really dumb. As soon as you mentioned magic weapons and the crescent falchion, I realised I had been using them! I ended up with a surplus as it was chunks / pure I needed to upgraded further (can't even remember if I fully maxed it, but I did end up with way too many shards).

There's a tough fight up at the end of 1-4 so you might want to get comfy with your character- level up, spend some souls, maybe create something with all these boss souls you've got and then maybe just go for it. Bear in mind that once you do 1-4, there's an event in the nexus where, once you commit, you'll end up 8n ng+, so is there anything you want to do before you commit? Any spells you've been eyeing up etc for example? |

My soul level is currently 65
Vitality: 26
Intelligence: 11
Endurance: 25
Strength: 30
Dexterity: 25
Magic: 10
Faith: 11
Luck: 7
I've only put souls into Vitality, Endurance, strength and dexterity.
I still hold on my boss souls.
I'm using the original Long Sword +10 and the Shade Heater Shield +2 along with a Compound Long Bow+1. Lol I'm probably the most vanilla player ever!! 😁😁
What do you recommend?
I've done 4 levels on each of the 5 world's so far with only the Blue Dragon stopping my progress on the 1st world.
I'm currently at 37hrs:20mins:19seconds.

There's a load of world tendency stuff you can play around with, but other than that, 1-4 is all you have left to do.
What sort of stats do you have? If you have enough strength the weapon from the Adjudicator soul is really strong. For Dex look at Makoto

I've gone back to the Mausoleum and got the Demonbtandt sword from the Old King. The attack power is lowered by -78 physical and -66 magical even though I've got the attributes requirement. I have the Crescent Falchion at +4 but they has magic atk at +22 any idea why that is?
I've made a Blueblood Sword out of the broken sword and pureblood demon soul. Going for the Morion blade(I think it was) and the Northern Regalia as well.
Any idea what the Vinland crewt is for?

Demonbrandt needs white character tendency (I actually think you get penalised with black).
Crescent Falchion - you'll be getting a bonus because of your magic stat, it scales with that.
Vinland Crest can be given to Selen Vinland, I can't actually remember what you get for it though.
