Haha you can tell you were anxious at the end and became more timid and reluctant to commit to an attack to finish it (love that). Doesn't look that bad to be honest, surprised you didn't go for more parries. Would like to see a version like that if bichii wants to upload

bichii I finally defeated Emma and Isshin last night, at last 😭! Finally found my mojo again. It was a bit scrappy at times,, but overall I think it went ok! As you suggested, I used Double Ichimonji against Emma, then Whirlwind slash against Ish phase 1 and then added my own input by using Shadowrush in Ish phase 2, before switching to Mortal draw, as you'd suggested, when the my Emblems ran out. I finally got the trophy for that boss fight and the Shura ending too! Woot! I recorded the footage: Thanks for all the help! I need to work towards the Owl Father ending now... Nice. Good to see you mostly followed my tips!! Especially the 11 o'clock dodge Vs Emma  . |

I'd fucked up so many times in the latter part of phase 2 Isshin that I just had to focus on doing my best to stay alive and pick my moments this time! I didn't realise until I watched it back that I'd managed to do all 3 fights without dying and resurrecting too, bonus! I also misjudged the distance of Mortal draw a few times at the end, but I was bricking it and worried about getting too close to him and being turned into Sushi. Glad to have finally done it and killed the old buzzard in this run! I'd like to see a Bichii run of this fight too, make it so Bichii. |

bichiiHa yeah, the 11 o'clock dodge too! I actually did better against Emma on previous runs compared to the winning run, you see it in the vid as I screwed up a button press and slashed at her instead of lining up an Ichimonji double and got tagged. Thankfully I regained the composure to finish her off quickly.

The closer you get to beating a difficult boss, the more pressure you feel. bichiiHeh, talk about living dangerously with that slither of health 😁. Nice skills though, I'd probably screw up half those parries even with a full health bar! Do you use that new option, whilst resting at an idol, to replay bosses for practice? Seems like a decent feature.

I might do a no damage owl father attempt tomorrow via the idol though. Should be squeeky. |

Hate to say it, but I'm really enjoying this. Wait?? You....like it? Now you aren't running around beating each boss after 40 minutes. I'll try and upload more. I'm not sure if this is common but my Xbox is terrible at recording videos in sekiro. More than half the time when I press record it doesn't save it. Screen shots always work but videos are very inconsistent. |

I think bichii's video is a good demonstration of how satisfying Sekiro can be when you nail it. Even just watching the video, those parries look so, so good. I always loved catching Genichiro's diving attack
I'm pretty sure you can OHK the monk in the air with a parry if your timing is right

Genichiro was always the point at which the game asked you, 'have you learned the core skills of Sekiro now?' especially mikiri counter! He'll be finishing up before you know it 😁. Though we all know, the only true roadblock he may face is that final Isshin fight, which is as nasty as a Colman's mustard lathered arse hole. I still fondly remember the wunty inspired 'run-o-matic 5000' technique that got a fair few of us through that final battle! I'd love to be able to do that fight properly though. I guess I could try that Idol boss challenge thing to see if I can decipher his patterns... Unlikely, but at least with this mode it's pretty harmless. |

If I get chance tonight I'm going to try owl father at the idol. Should be interesting with no resurrection though and I won't use mortal draw as I feel it makes every boss easier.
I really want to beat the long gauntlet as I want the isshin skin. Not sure I have the temperament though, I've tried it twice and the upgraded inner isshin gets me and it's rage inducing as you have to beat about five bosses in a row just to get there without dying.

Played a bit more - did the Folding Screen Monkeys, Snake Eyes Shirafuji and Long Arm Centipede Giraffe last night. It all seems so much easier now I'm better at deflecting. In fact I did the Long Arm Centipede first time in about 30 seconds - just deflecting his long combos a couple of times and his posture was instantly broken!

Google the purification ending as there are quite a few steps to do at the right time in the story to trigger it. It's not just owl either that's different, there are several mini boss fights and different enemies around the estate. |

I didn't even do the first one - not being able to practice the last fight put me off after a couple of attempts. This was when I didn't have the charm as well so learning the fight needing perfect parries and with chip damage was a laugh
Also, yeah, the steps you need for the Purification ending are pretty obtuse. I did everything for the Homecoming ending just by exploring thoroughly but you need to overhear specific conversations for the Purification one. I doubt I'd have ever found that one by chance. Worse than the Usurper ending in DS3

Tried to go no damage Vs owl father first attempt! Not good enough but it went pretty well as seen except I got hit 2-3 times in a couple of seconds mid fight but again like ape I refuse to heal (or use mortal draw)!! Second phase was the same except I healed twice. Once right at the start as I was still low then stupidly I got caught by the teleporting slam!

Hmm, working through the Sunken Valley but struggling with the Guardian Ape. I can't seem to get the deflect timing right, his attacks seem to have a huge windup, so I'm always too early/late
There was also a bit with about 20 monkeys crowded around just before the boss - the PS5 frame rate took a huge dip when I jumped into them with the firecracker and set about slaughtering them all - the base PS4 must have completely bombed at that point!
