Actually deranged to think someone got inspired to do another one the day after. And how easily it could have been done.
And of course the next genius idea to protect the kids according to Ted Cruz is to only have one door into a school serving as the entrance and exit that has guards and metal detectors. Nevermind what would happen if the guards get taken out first, but even in the case of a fire.
Not only did the cops not act quick enough, they even got another student killed.

The husband of one of the teachers murdered, suffered a fatal heart attack today. High school sweethearts married for 24 years leaving 4 kids behind. Desperately sad stuff.
Also the stuff that is going to come out about police incompetence and cowardice in this story might actually keep attention on it for more than a week. Though I’m sure the powers that be in Texas are already covering up all they can.

Not sure picking apart the cops response is very fair, given what must have been an absolutely terrifying event, trained or not.

They’ve chosen allowing nutcases to have guns over the lives of children. They’ve made it clear repeatedly that nothing is going to change that, probably because those with guns are scary and they pay the right people.
The only way it’ll change is if American decides as a whole decides that guns are bad and those against guns speak louder and use the tactics of the fanatics against them.
