I found bard to be a bit low on the actual dps, I couldn't believe the increase when I switched to dancer.

And into Heavensward I go! That was some serious plot development towards the end of the post-ARR patches. For some reason I was expecting the expansions to be completely separate individual stories rather than extensions of a single, continuous plotline. Cool stuff.
Trying out machinist finally. Need to level it up more but right now it's feeling like a less versatile version of bard. Anyway, having a gun is pretty cool, and I hear eventually you can summon a robot buddy, a la Gauge in Borderlands 2, which sounds brilliant.

The robot buddy is sadly level 80, but the job has some serious Edgar from FF6 vibes. As for the story continuing, it continues right through Stormblood and Shadowbringers, as well. Once the credits roll on Endwalker, we will finally be in new plot territory. I'm both excited and nervous. After this long telling one story, I hope they stick the landing.

Yep, just started Stormblood myself, sadly I'm not going to hit end walker for release, which is as a shame as its really good to hit a new expansion at the start with everyone else.

Being behind the curve has its own benefits, you're not squabbling over every spawn and the powergamers wont be infesting the levelling dungeons. FFVIX has less of this than that other MMO but it's still a thing. And you won't miss out as there's always players needing story content |

I just finished off 5.3 (I assume) MSQ. And also did the 3rd NieR alliance raid, of which I spent roughly 50% face down on the floor.  But now I have all (normal) dungeons, raids, and trials (that I know of) done. Weee! |

Just started the trial. Not sure if I wanna get into a subscription game, especially because I'm already paying for the Destiny 2 expansions and seasons, but I want to see if it might be worth it.
Total MMO noob as well (the only online games I've ever played for a long time have been Destiny and Diablo 3), so I hope the introduction curve is easy enough.

Have you done all the normal raids… You have Alexander, omega & Eden series of ‘raids’ - 12 trials broken into 4 per section. Have you also done the warring triad, 4 kings (can’t remember it’s name but you fight Byakko) and the sorrow of wylet. Set of trials 4 additional trials per expansion. |

It was my first MMO too and I've found the learning curve nice and gentle. I had an intense 3 month addiction to Destiny 2 a few years ago and have found FFXIV to be just as enjoyable as that game but with a lot less FOMO and feeling obligated to do daily/weekly tasks. Don't worry about the subscription at all for now. I'm around 160 hours in and am still in free trial territory. |

Free trial is so generous, the only reason I subbed was to play with a friend so we could group and stuff. Tbh it's well worth the £7-odd a month. So much content.

Yeah triple triad is addictive too, but can also be frustrating with some of the low drop rates for certain cards. Getting Bahamut from King Elmer was an hour of pain.

Not liking the changes to summoner at all. Ok maybe it's not so bad. Definitely more fast paced. Fester seems a bit pointless now and I miss the DoTs, but the egis seem to hit harder and visually there's a lot more going on. |

Yeah, this morning was fine (50 queue), just now I've had 3.2k queue (took about 2h).
But once in, it runs fine (which is impressive).

Friday evening had the 2002 error, tried 3 or 4 times then got a queue of 1500 at about 10pm, not too bad.
Got on no problem Saturday morning, never bothered in the evening.
This afternoon I was in a 4500 queue and got down to 400 then crashed.
Just tried to log in now and 6300 queue, holy shit.
