Saved games are separate from the game installs aren't they? You can delete a game without removing the saves and they'll still be there when you reinstall. Should be fine. Plus they'll be in the cloud anyway

Well I'm now sitting around 120-140fps with ultra settings on ultra wide and DLAA. It just seems more consistent without the wild peaks and troughs from before (60-100 ish).
DLAA though, that's the shit for me.

I finally finished the Crimson Fleet questline last night - that's all of the factions done* \o/ . Unless there's a secret faction I haven't found, I guess that means I've "finished the game", although I do still need to mop up that weird quest I found in a distant system before I put it down for a bit. *Regarding New Game Plus and the faction quests/Crimson Fleet ending... I haven't done any of the other factions in my current NG++, so there's still a Terramorph problem (UC) for instance. Ironically the Crimson Fleet quest is the one I would have preferred to repeat in a future NG+ because it seems like the most varied depending on who you side with - but since it's the last one I tackled, I'm not sure I want to go through the Unity and do it all over again just yet.
(I went with the Fleet, obviously - Ikande was too self righteous and I didn't want the Fleet wiped out completely)
I haven't decided yet whether to go to NG+++ now, or leave my save in a place where I've got decent equipment and an established base. The latter feels more sensible, but the former is a bit neater and appeals to me role-play wise, like "I've done everything I want to for now, and I'm starting the next adventure with a blank slate"

Bethesda customer support taking a rather ill advised move and are responding to negative reviews directly on Steam with "No but it's good actually"
"Astronauts weren't bored when they went to outer space" is some hilarious mental gymnastics to justify why a lot of the planets have nothing interesting on them.

That’s hilarious, but they’ve got away Todd spouting absolute marketing bullshit for years- they’re just following the example set at the top.

This is so bad. I played two hours on launch day and haven't touched it since. Tried two hours today and all I could think was how shit is was Vs 2077. Yeah they aren't the same game exactly but in every measurable thing 2077 is far better. I feel like it is about 20 years old with a lick of paint. Think I'll delete it. I'm bed bound for a week ish so I thought this would be the game to entertain me, nope..

Oh, but the moon landers weren’t bored, and they did that in 1969?

Oh, but the moon landers weren’t bored, and they did that in 1969? I’m in NG+ 3 or 4 and with my starborn powers but too powerful, so think will give it a rest until DLC comes out. I could go for the base and farming achievements but that area of the game is too confusing and not fun (IME)

I'm on +3 currently and replaying the main story. They could have done a bit more work on it I think.
"What sort of ship is that? I've never seen anything like it."
Really? You've never seen a ship like that before in your life? Not flying on one right now? I can't wait to get back to the lodge and tell everyone what a fuckwit you are.
Hey everyone, look at this fuckwit.
"Is that some sort of prototype? Did humans even make it?"
You're all morons.

It's not a bad game, I still find myself firing it up despite knowing I should be playing Mirage. Currently flitting between this and P.

This was decent from Outside Xtra recently: youtu.be/McFgVKmjBu0?si=GjAoml2vKehTmHxvBasically Jane thinks the current game will get better over time, and hints that we’ve forgotten how much disappointment there was in Skyrim in the months after it launched. But they do acknowledge that the issues with launch Skyrim were more technical, whereas the issues with Starfield are more fundamental and harder to fix with future updates. I’m ready to put it down (for real this time) but I’m still excited about picking it up again for future DLC. And console mods!

My biggest concern is the lack of personality in quests and development from games of the past.
I am almost done with a 100% oblivion run and there are really some standout quests here and there is generally a lot of character and diverse enemy designs. The more I see of starfield the less I like it. It probably still has that nice Bethesda "just one more quest" loop but I just do not see enough personality. It also all feels so neutered as if some committee went over every quest with sensitivity training.

Modder of skyrim co-op has abandoned the one for starfield as thinks the game is "fucking trash"
but will let other modders finish his work (just like what bethesda does!)

Started replaying Infinite Warfare this evening, and it frequently looks better than Starfield despite it being released seven years previously.
Not in the door animations, obviously.

Door animations. The doors themselves are very 6/10, LIKE THE REST OF THE GA… yeah, etc etc.

GTA6 will not be able to match the door animations, so unplayable 2/10

Starfield was just a gateway drug, it opened the door for more games to enter the competition in the future.
Although it's honestly adoorable if any of them think they can compete with the second Paper Mario. That one had a Thousand-Year Door, can't beat that

You know how it is, you give up on a game for months at a time, then pick it back up again and suddenly find yourself landing on a planet that's basically a more fucked up version of Waxworld from Red Dwarf.

Hahaha I know exactly which one you mean - Wild Wasteland vibes. Game needs more stuff like that in the DLC.

Presents me with something weird and unexpected that I'm bound to enjoy, and at the same time the first NPC to greet me there said "This is the meeting I've been waiting for all my life!" and promptly wandered off with nothing else to say.

Playing F3 at the moment and it shows that even then Bethesda knew how to deliver a good door.
As far as doors go they are the boss.

Love how they're trying to spin it as an exciting new patch that will improve the game, but it's just fixing broken shit. Great job, guys - keep adding all this free content like working quests

I was just thinking of a specific scenario of this game I enjoyed and thought about reinstalling it, then realized I was thinking of No Man’s Sky.
