Patch tomorrow. I've restarted the career so not bothered about that now but thank fuck for this. Performance Addressed an issue on console that was causing additional screen tearing in frontend menus after the v1.4.0 update. Addressed an issue on console that was causing additional screen tearing after excessive use of the pause menu. Performance on console should now be similar to before v1.4.0. Is this on Gamepass? As in longer than 10 hours via EA Play? Because I’m quite tempted. Although I have no idea how long I’ll be able to hog the telly if I am playing a rally game…

Just had a quick blast round Kenya which seemed to be the worst tearing for me and it looks like it's sorted. Imagine it'll still crop up occasionally like it did before the last patch but it's definitely a massive improvement.

I get the feeling the "fix" for the screen tear was to cut draw distance. Pop in seems quite a bit worse now. May be imagining it but the resolution seems to have taken a hit too.

That’s WTF if so and may be the last straw for me. Re installed cm2 the other day and this looks no better, yet the twatbags can’t get it to run decently.

Might have just been the location to be honest, was Croatia which has always looked rough I think. Just did a run in Italy and it was actually running well.

Yeah this is much better now it seems. Just done the event in Finland and I've joined the FonG2 group also.
Can't be sure if it's dropping a frame occasionally but it's better than whatever was going on before.

Not sure it's a dropped frame bit there's like an irritating stutter that wasn't there before. Suppose it's better than the screen splitting in half every 20 metres.
Think the clubs might be dead now. Was only me and cruncher doing them and he's dropped out of them now.

I don’t mind doing it still, maybe just the main one. Thing is, feel you need about five or more people for everyone to have someone to compete against across a range of speeds.
Some other good ones with good numbers- BRC Revival, LowFuelMotorsport and the Official Historic one.
I do think I see a fraction more pop-in.

It's finding ones without tuning that I'm finding difficult. I can't be arsed messing around with setups but it can make a huge difference on times so I never feel like I'm on an even footing.

Oh and if anyone hasn't already drop the HDR brightness down to the 20s, massively improves the look of the game imo.

Was stuttering like crazy in the second event there. Like a micro pause every 10 seconds. Restarting the game seems to have cleared it. So that's something new.

I honestly think the “fix” has been to just roll back to the 1.3 version of the game. 1.4 didn’t stutter for me but had regular tearing, that version both stuttered and tore occasionally- back to where we are now.

They've pretty much said as much in the patch notes. This was a fix for the career thing and a roll back to stop the tearing. Said they're working on performance for next proper patch. Wouldn't be surprised if we're another 6 months away from them sorting it. It's clearly been released half finished.

They went with Quick Fix rather than Change Part and it still took a month. Can live with it as is, but they’ve clearly fired some competent coders or are running on a skeleton staff at the mo’.

Some of the dialogue in the trailer is distinctly cheesy and I'm expected more than a few cliches, but if it matches the memories I have of watching Mikkola, Mouton and the rest in the Lakes and Clumber, when the Rally GB covered great chunks of the place, then I'll be happy enough.

Yeah, watched it today- it’s ok. It’s got all the period detail, the raybans, the rolled up sleeves at a desk full of blueprints but just lands a little flat. Somehow, despite being such a pivotal moment in a particularly charismatic era of rallying, there’s very little drama wrought. Barely any actually rally footage either and you can see the budget was a touch tight. Definitely watchable, but especially, perhaps only, if you’re a fan of that era.

Good update. My shoulder/neck is still not right and I've got my 3rd physio appointment booked for next week so hopefully this trapped nerve will release a little more.
